""Originally intended to be written as the product of a '21 Poems in 21 Days' competition, the development of this short volume hit an immediate snag when I attempted to catalogue the exploits of my favourite D&D character, entirely through narratively contiguous limericks. An ambitious project to start with; a gruelling ordeal by day five, and limerick #52. Discarding the project and now having wasted a whole week of the competition, I browsed my old files and folders for inspiration. And I realised that among my various writings from the past fifteen years, there were several nuggets of which I was actually proud. I decided instead to re-interpret '21 Poems in 21 Days' - they may not have been consecutive, but together, the days on which these poems were written have yielded a selection of which I feel I can be proud. Some are funny, some are bleak, some rhyme, some are more freeform, etc. Some of them are even good. I enjoyed putting this together, and I hope you enjoy reading it. Just remember, I'm fine.""
