A diamond-smuggling plane is blown off course by a hurricane and crashes in the Jamaican Blue Mountains. A small crew of smugglers sets out for Jamaica with the cryptographic keys needed to open the state-of-the-art safes. In a 'it seemed like a good idea at the time' moment, one of the smugglers gives a teenage girl, Janet Martin, the bag with the key fobs to carry through customs at Miami International Airport. Janet accepts an offer of free airline tickets for her seat on her overbooked flight to Jamaica and leaves the airport. Next morning she forgets the smugglers' bag at the hotel. It takes the smugglers three months to find her, and they are angry and brutal. Janet's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin engage The Fixer to find their daughter after she is kidnapped by the smugglers. "Why do you think I can help?" "Our pastor suggested that we call you," they nervously add, "he said you have the ability to fix things."
