Teaching Us: The Class of 1960 at Moses Brown School: Volume III, In Contest is a detailed description of the athletic program at Moses Brown School during the 1950s. This partly autobiographical account is based on the author's personal recollections, interviews with classmates, interviews with surviving coaches from that era, and on a documentary record that includes accounts of sports events in School publications (both official and student) and in the Providence Journal . Coaching techniques, skills developed, and strategic thinking are emphasized in the accounts presented. This volume constitutes an intensive review of the contribution of sports to student growth and learning at a quality private K-12 New England Quaker preparatory school in the 1950s.
