They taught the children of men the crafting of metal and the tracking of stars, and they found them pleasing. From their unions sprang the eight species-Elves, Dwarvens, Humans, Nymphs, Orcs, Satyrs, and Trolls-each a vessel for the Spark. But from these unions also sprang a schism.
