"Straight from my Heart" is a collection of poetry that I have written over the past 20-30 years. When I first started writing poems, I held a firm belief that they should all rhyme. That was the norm; that was what I was actually taught in school. As time went on though, I started to branch out and utilize different forms of poetry like imagery and free verse. For me, as long as the poem comes straight from the heart, it does not necessarily matter what form or pattern it holds. It is all about the words! This collection of poetry is a compilation that I feel best represents my heart. There are poems about love, loss, reflection and inspiration. It is my hope, that maybe just one of these poems will inspire someone in a way they never expected.
