Excerpt from Sketch of the Bradleys in Washington: A Paper Read Before the Columbia Historical Society Tuesday, May 13th, 1902 The brief sketch which I am invited to give relates to the families and descendants of two brothers, Abraham and Phineas Bradley, who settled in this City early in the century just completed elder of the two, coming in May, 1800, having in charge the removal of the General Post Office Department from Philadelphia to Washington, and Phineas in 1801, having accepted a position in the same Department.
