This book is written for those of you who have experienced a recent suicide in your family and are now faced with what to tell the child left behind. The chapters are divided into specific age categories; included in each are paraphrased conversations with people who have lived through the suicidal death of a parent or are a surviving parent or caregiver. This information is intended to be used as suggested strategies for the surviving parent or caregiver; knowing that each child who has survived a parental suicide is uniquely different and the events surrounding the death will vary greatly. Our hope is that you will gain the insight and courage you need now to guide your child through the aftermath of a suicide. Perhaps our experiences will make the healing process a little easier.
