Magic Sauce(TM) is a novel set in a North American city, in the near future. The hero Nathaniel is a 12-year-old boy in a society that really values young, smart kids and pushes them into technical schools to start working in high-end environments. In this case, it is a multinational food company's research laboratory. Through his talent, his supportive parents, and his growing friendships with three brilliant young (female) scientists, Nathaniel formulates a marvelous sauce that changes taste depending on the temperature of the food. Together he and his friends work hard to try to overcome a conniving and duplicitous (adult) scientist-boss.
