Wilson Ngo was born in 1974 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia in the midst of civil war. The rise of the Khmer Rouge and the forced evacuation of his family from Cambodia to Vietnam would mark only the beginning of a harrowing journey to British Columbia, Canada. In Canada, Ngo struggles to settle into calm, often finding himself vulnerable to negative influences from both outside and inside himself. Through fertility struggles, the ups and downs of marriage, miscarriage, health scares, depression and ultimately colon cancer, Journey Home reflects on a full life lived in a too-short time. Here, Ngo bares for the reader his inner demons, his determination, his love for family, the raw and intimate details of his battle with cancer, and his questioning and ultimately committed faith.
