- For hot therapy (based on a 1,200-watt microwave): 1. Clean microwave before use. 2. Wrap must be at room temperature before microwave use. 3. Distribute contents of the wrap evenly and lay flat in microwave with the strap underneath the wrap. 4. Heat at full power for 55 seconds. 5. Knead contents to distribute heat. Check for desired temperature (temperature will continue to rise slightly). If wrap is too hot, let cool until temperature is acceptable. 6. If additional heat is desired, return to microwave and heat in 15-second increments. Do not exceed total heating time of 100 seconds. Excessive heating may cause wrap to rupture and leak. 7. Store at room temperature for future hot therapy use. NOTE: DO NOT apply heat therapy for more than 20 minutes. For cold therapy: 1. Place wrap in freezer for at least 1 hour. 2. Knead contents and apply to affected area. Wrap to personal comfort level. 3. Monitor skin during application to avoid frostbite. If wrap feels too cold, wrap in towel. 4. Place in freezer bag and store in freezer for future cold therapy use. NOTE: DO NOT apply cold therapy for more than 20 minutes. Instructions for care: Gently blot wrap with warm water and air dry.
