The System measures glucose levels from the interstial fluid - a thin layer of fluid that surrounds the cells of the tissues in your skin. Glucose is found in the interstial fluid because it moves there from blood vessels.   • Applying your sensor: 1. Wash using only non-moisturing, fragrance-free soaps to the area that you will apply your sensor. 2. Clean using the alcohol wipe provided in the sensor kit to remove any oily residue on the skin. 3. Dry and allow your skin to fully dry before applying the sensor. Tips: 1. Shave any excess arm hair as it can get caught between the sensor adhesive and skin 2. After a shower or swim, take extra care when towelling off to avoid catching or pulling the sensor 3. Try to give your sensor room by wearing loose-fitting clothing and lightweight material 4. Be sure to select a site on the back of your upper arm that will minimize the risk of it coming off, and consider using an over-bandage and/or any of the items on the previous page 5. Avoid playing with or pulling the sensor while wearing it Making your sensor stay put: Add extra stickiness with these products to help ensure your sensor stays in place. 1.
