- Swallow caplet with water. Do not chew. Adults: 1 caplet. Children 10-14 years: use Pepto-Bismol caplet (262mg) or Pepto-Bismol chewables, 3-9 years: Use Pepto-Bismol liquid. For children under 3 years, consult a physician. Repeat every ½ to 1 hour as needed. Do not exceed 8 caplets in 24 hours. Use until diarrhea stops but not more than 2 days. Drink plenty of clear fluids to help prevent dehydration caused by diarrhea.
