Years ago in San Francisco, Daan de Sylva lost his family in a car bombing, and the murderer was never caught. Now, as Daan returns to Amsterdam after his annual trip to America to remember his family, Daan's plane is diverted to Salt Lake City due to a medical emergency and Professor Phoebe Silva and her two daughters board his plane as passengers. Because of mistaken identity, Daan and Phoebe are thrown into a cycle of intrigue as they are forced to share the same hotel room as fake man and wife, attend Wagner's "The Ring Cycle" together, are chased through the streets and canals of Amsterdam, and lose her daughters in a kidnapping. The murderer of his family now targets Daan and Phoebe to be killed and they must work together to stay alive while figuring out how they feel about each other.
