This book provides a complete guide to calculating the measurement uncertainty associated with tests carried out using the following measuring systems: coordinate measuring machine, profile projector and tooling microscope. The aim of this book is to provide all those who take measurements with a simple and quick way of assessing uncertainty, contributing to the traceability of the results and demonstrating their reliability. To this end, the following steps were carried out: study of measurement systems, emphasizing the principle of operation, application and construction characteristics; identification of the variables that influence the measurement result of each measurand; mathematical modeling of the measurement process in question, as recommended by GUM (2003); implementation of uncertainty calculation scripts using the Excel program; carrying out tests to obtain the data needed for simulation, uncertainty evaluation with the respective discussions and, finally, validation of the spreadsheets. Excel proved to be a powerful tool for implementing the calculation scripts for obtaining measurement uncertainty.
