Stress is an unavoidable characteristic of life and affecting everyone, even young ones. Children often experience stress from ongoing situations, some of which may be beyond their control. Today the pace of life is faster and changes occur rapidly and frequently. Childhood stress responses reflect differences in personality, as well as differences in physical strength or general health. Children have individual personalities; they react and handle stress in their own, often unpredictable ways. Stress can have a wide-ranging and negative impact on the well-being of the children and his or her day-to-day functioning. The study was conducted among mothers of school going children (5-12 years) and identified causes and consequences of stress upon the personality development.
