Ever facred be the memory of thofe illufirious periods 3 May each fucceflive anniverfary of the birth-day of our nation faithfully recall them to the mind of eve ry American. Never in the whole hifiory of man have fironger claims exified to the richefl offerings of the heart. Never was there great er propriety in the annual appropriation of one day to the celebration of pafi: achievements.
