Excerpt from A List of Monumental Brasses: Remaining in the County of Suffolk With regard to the arrangement of the list, I must quote the words of my preface to the Norfolk volume - The churches are placed in alphabetical order; in each church the effigial and subject brasses being given before the inscriptions, each class according to date then follows a description of what still remains of each brass, as also of what is known to be lost. The date in Clarendon type is that of the engraving of the brass, usually also the date of decease. Every genealogical reference in the list, unless enclosed within a rectangular bracket, or authoritatively specified, is recorded on the brass. The position in the church is stated, as also the size of the effigy or inscription in inches. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
